Our fully equipped facility enables year round training so that your horse will get a good jump on the season.  We can customize a program to suit your present and future goals.  Training board includes full feed, Comfort Stall bedding system, and daily turnout along with an individualized training program. 

Our philosophy on starting green horses is that a well made horse doesn’t happen in a few weeks.  Our goal is to create a willing student whose mind is open to learning and whose body is physically able to perform the requested tasks without undo stress to either mind or body.

The “Best Start Program” is a proven systematic progression that initially introduces the horse to concepts such as respect for personal space, correct and reward based learning, and relaxation techniques. We then introduce easy exercises that teach the horse to seek positive reinforcement.  Through consistency, we move along at an individually appropriate pace covering all the basics from lunging to long lining and backing.

If we do our job well, you should have an eager partner that can go on in the discipline of your choice.  We prefer to involve the owner as much as possible so that there is less confusion when you take your friend home. 

Unfortunately, some horses have had a less than ideal start and need to have some of the holes in their training filled. “Un-training” is often more accurate than retraining but call it what you like, we can do it.  Key to this process is re-educating the rider and we encourage them to try some new techniques.
